Pan-Seared Caramelized Apples


  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup butter, cold
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • 2 baking apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
  • Ice cream


  1. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, add sugar and cook until an amber color. Add the butter and swirl the pan to mix. Add cinnamon, vanilla extract, and apples, rotating often. Add apple juice, reduce heat and simmer until apples have softened. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
